Legacy

At Base Camp X we know it’s never too late to start tradition. The words, objects and images that we leave behind can define who we were and how we lived for those that follow. These are all things that can lead to great inspiration and influence… This is Legacy.
There is no doubt that the pieces that we offer, are much more than products or hand made goods… they are windows for you to discover, and look into your own Base Camp… Only you will know where that camp is and what it speaks to you.
My Great Grandfather Ernie Neelands, or E.V. as he was best known, knew a thing about Legacy. He was a hardened outdoorsman, Surveyor and Mining Engineer who travelled and worked in Central America, South America and various locations throughout Canada. His love for wild places and the solitude found in the Canadian wilderness lives on through my brand. Ernie passed on in 1957 and left behind a gift that would eventually find its way into my name…
Base Camp X is dedicated to my mother Janet Katharine Strachan Cameron. Mom gifted me a Legacy that was passed on from EV and the land that is now my Base Camp X.
We would like to hear from you if you have any stories that involve Legacy. Please put a paragraph or two together and share your experience with us.
